We Need You!
We can always use more volunteers at the FamilySearch Center. This is a flexible opportunity and beginners are welcome!
**Do I need to have a calling to work in the FamilySearch center?
NO. Some of the center workers work by assignment from their church wards. Many are simply volunteers. If you have interest and some time you are willing to give, YOU can work at the center.
**Do I have to have a certain skill set to work there?
NO. We will train you! You will not be alone in helping visiting patrons -- we have seasoned workers on every shift. I can attest that the FamilySearch center very much models Neal A Maxwell's counsel , “God does not begin by asking us about our ability, but only about our availability, and if we then prove our dependability, he will increase our capability”.
**What is the time commitment?
Daytime shifts are 2.5 hours. Evening shifts are 2 hours. Most of our workers work weekly. Bi-weekly schedules are also possible.
**Is there flexibility when I need to travel/etc.?
Absolutely! We will work together to find a substitute on weeks you need to be elsewhere.
**What are the advantages?
There is so much joy in this service! You will be working with some fabulous people doing a marvelous work. Much of your time at the center will be spent "practicing" on your own family tree! The FamilySearch center is a great place to seek the blessings President Nelson promises: “as you increase your time in temple and family history work, you will increase and improve your ability to hear Him"
